A hammerless double action revolver with the left side engraved "The People's/ National/Bank" and on the right "Pittsburgh/ PA." The 3 1/4" round ribbed barrel has a bright bore with a few scattered pits. The 3rd model hammerless began production in 1909 and continued until 1934. This serial number shows production in 1919. One significant change in the 3rd model was that the owl on the grip was now looking directly at you. Other internal parts were changed to accommodate smokeless powder. The left grip panel shows 2 small chips at the top. For reference see "Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works" by W.E. Goforth. About 50% blue remains with the balance brown. Included is a plain brown open top leather period holster with no markings. An interesting "bank gun" from 1919. For the bank gun collector or a person interested in the history of the Pittsburgh PA area. FFL or C&R
