A post WWII Italian conversion to 7.9MM . The serial No. is stamped on the receiver ring and "7.9" is on the fixed rear sight. The stock has a matching serial on the butt and the letter "S" Just behind the triggerguard. These carbines were issued as single shots as the 7.9 (8mm cartridge) was too large to fit in the Carcano clip or magazine. This is a nice matching example complete with the folding bayonet. A used but complete unit. This was probably a post war conversion see page 244 of the "Standard Catalog of Military Firearms 4th ed." FFL or C&R
